Guvercinlik is one of the lesser known resorts in the Bodrum peninsula, however, it is famous for the amazing flora and fauna it is surrounded by. It is a small bay, located on the Aegean Sea, with fields of pine and olive trees.
Guvercinlik is located northeast of Bodrum, and the local transport from Guvercinlik to Bodrum takes only 20 minutes.
The hills on the east of Salih Island are covered with pine and olive trees. Despite the pollution created by the nearby fish farms, the sea is still very clean. There is almost no historical evidence, but it is claimed that the island of Salih was the location of ancient Karyanda.
In the region, there is the possibility of water sports. You can also rent a private boat for sailing around the secluded bays and hidden coastal caves.
The ideal months for exploring and hiking are spring and autumn, as the weather is not too hot or too cold. For sun and beach lovers, the optimum period is between the months of May and October when the weather is warm, especially in August and September.
Traditional dishes can be enjoyed. For discos and bars, you should head to the nearby town of Bodrum.
