Iskenderun is located on the eastern Mediterranean coast in the Gulf of Iskenderun, on the foothills of Nur (mountain Aman).
Iskenderun is a busy commercial center and one of the largest cities in the province of Hatay, similar in size to the provincial seat of Antakya. The city is one of the largest ports of Turkey bordering the Mediterranean Sea and a major industrial center, home to the steel İsdemir, one of the largest in Turkey. Iskenderun has an active life, modern hotels, restaurants and cafes along the seafront with palm trees, there are a variety of accommodations for visitors. Iskenderun is also an important naval training.
ISKENDERUN | İskenderun is a city and district in the province of Hatay on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. It was originally named Alexandria near Issos and later Alexandretta.
