Urgup is very famous as a tourist center of the region and offers many options for food and accommodation. It is also an ideal place to start a tour of the region with Ortahisar, Mustafapasa, Gomeda Valley and Monastery Keslik just 5-10 miles away.
On the road to Urgup are greeted by "three beauties" (catalkaya). Each tour bus stops here to see amazing panoramic views of the entire region. To see the remaining structures and Ottoman beyliks should visit temenni Impaler. Patriarchy was the center of Urgup Cappadocia. Uzumlu Church, Church Cambazli Sarica Church in Ortahisar which was one of the villages that belonged to Urgup are the oldest rock churches from the region. Moreover and Tavsanli Church and the Church of Saint Basileious are spectacular places. Urgup which is famous cave hotels, wines and hand made carpets is the most important tourist center of the region Cappaddocia. Old cave houses were restored as a tourist cave hotel without damaging their historic structure. Along the cave hotels some of the caves were built as places of entertainment in discos and bars.
